Another day of perfect weather. We pushed the envelope on sand construction techniques creating a Gaudy Castle in four dimensions carefully planned to coincide with the retreating tide to retain its water.
This castle/pool represents the culmination of Austin Castle designs in California. After this example, the designers moved onto snow figures fashioned out of sand.
After a siesta, we checked out the Laguna Beach village. We had lunch at Sundried Tomato, a little cafe in the middle of town. Quite acceptable. Derek had a haircut to get into corporate readiness for the meeting in Florida next week (thanks Tania!). Then we did some shopping.
We found an interesting shop specialising in mineral crystals, fossils and related artwork. Sienna bought an ancient shell, an ammonite. We saw dinosaur eggs as well as fossils of fish, dinosaurs and all manner of other things.Sienna is preparing intensively for Halloween with a costume for her Baby doll that is a ghost with red eyes, grey skin and green teeth. Be afraid, residents of San Jose!
